SAE J1939 (hereinafter referred to as J1939) is the recommended standard of the American Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). It is controlled and communicated by the "Truck and Bus Electrical & Electronics Committee" (Track & Bus Electrical & Electronics Committee). Developed and written by the Track & Bus Control and Communications Network Subcommittee.
