Fatal failure of the connector terminals

In many cases, if the terminal fails, the connector will have many problems, such as leakage, short circuit, and so on. So what are the faults in the connector terminals?

Fatal failure of the connector terminals

Poor contact

The metal conductor inside the terminal is the core part of the terminal. It transmits the current or signal from the outside to the corresponding contact of the connector to which it is matched. It is very important in the overall circuit, so the contact must have an excellent structure and good electrical conductivity

Due to the unreasonable design of the contact structure, the wrong selection of materials, the deviation of the processing dimensions, the instability of the mold, the harsh storage environment and improper operation, the contact parts may be in poor contact.

Poor insulation

The function of the insulator is to keep the contacts in the correct position and to insulate the different contacts from each other. Therefore, the insulator must have excellent insulation properties. However, due to the presence of metal excesses on the surface or inside of the insulator, surface dust, flux, etc. are contaminated by moisture, and the insulating material is aged, causing short circuits  and leakage.

Bad fixation

The insulator not only acts as an insulator, but also provides precise centering and protection for the extended contacts, as well as mounting and locking to the device. The fixation is poor, the light one affects the contact and leads to a short circuit, and the serious one is the connectors disintegration.
