Many tests have been developed to measure the flame retardation of wires and cables. A lot of people misunderstood UL94-V0 and VW-1 . Today , Yeahui would like to introduce the differences between fire retardant UL94-V0 and VW-1.

VW-1 test also called Vertical Wire ( VW ) test . It is a flame test and rating performed on wire and cable construction only. The combination of the wire, plus any insulation , jacket, shielding , or taping , and coloring , is tested and given the rating .

The UL94 tests , are tests performed on samples of insulation material .

In addition to the above differences , UL-94 is also different from VW-1 in specimen dimension , gas flow and equipment used .
